What Older Builders Grow Through the Experience
Robotics and coding provide the challenge. The bigger value comes from learning how to contribute to a team, communicate ideas, respond to setbacks, manage responsibilities, and keep working
when the first solution does not succeed.
Confidence
Students see complex ideas become working designs and discover that they are capable of solving increasingly difficult problems.
Resilience
Designs may fail, programs may need debugging, and strategies
may need to change. Students practice revising and trying again.
Responsibility
Team members manage tasks, care for shared equipment, contribute ideas, follow through, and recognize that others depend on them.
Collaboration
Students explain ideas, listen to different perspectives, divide responsibilities, compare approaches, and solve challenges together.
Design. Program. Test. Improve. Share.
Students use the FIRST LEGO® League curriculum and team process to work through connected robotics, coding, engineering, research, strategy, and presentation challenges.
DesignAnalyze the challenge, generate ideas, and plan a possible solution.
Build and ProgramConstruct mechanisms and program robotic movement and behavior.
TestObserve performance, collect information, and identify problems.
ReviseDebug programs, improve designs, adjust strategies, and try again.
ShareExplain decisions, demonstrate progress, and reflect as a team.
A Connected Robotics and Engineering Experience
Students use LEGO® Bricks, LEGO® Technic elements, robotics kits, coding tools, and other program materials to investigate how structures, mechanisms, movement, programming, and strategy work together.
Robotics and Coding
Build and program robotic systems, sequence actions, use sensors, test movement, debug code, and improve performance.
Engineering Design
Design and test structures and mechanisms while considering force, motion, stability, reliability, and task requirements.
Strategy and Problem-Solving
Compare options, prioritize tasks, identify constraints, evaluate results, and decide which changes will have the greatest effect.
Research and Communication
Investigate the season challenge, organize information, communicate ideas, explain decisions, and present team progress.
Teamwork and Leadership
Share responsibilities, communicate respectfully, contribute strengths, support teammates, and practice stepping into
leadership roles.
Reflection and Improvement
Analyze what worked, identify what should change, revise plans, and recognize how persistence contributes to improvement.
The Team Experience Without the Travel Commitment
Snapology follows the FIRST LEGO® League curriculum and team process in an in-house, non-travel format designed to preserve the collaboration, challenge, responsibility, and growth families value.
In-House Team ExperienceStudents work together during the weekly Snapology session rather than traveling to outside events.
Friendly Internal ChallengesStudents may participate in friendly internal challenges that give teams a reason to test progress and celebrate growth.
Family ShowcaseThe experience concludes with an opportunity for students to share their progress, process, and accomplishments with their families.
An In-House, Non-Travel Team ExperienceSnapology follows the FIRST LEGO® League curriculum and team process in an in-house format. Students may participate in
friendly internal challenges and conclude the season with a family showcase. Teams do not participate in outside competitions.
