Personally, I’m not a fan of overscheduling my kids during summer. I love giving them space to have unstructured days—to get bored, be creative, and figure out how to entertain themselves (while, ideally, staying out of trouble!). That said, I do believe in the power of high-quality summer camps. I typically aim for 3–4 weeks of diverse, engaging camps that keep them active and inspired when they’re not at home or visiting Grandma.
If you’re starting your summer planning too, you know how overwhelming the camp options can be. As a summer camp provider myself, I’ve learned a lot about what separates a “meh” camp from a truly memorable one—and I use that same lens when picking camps for my own kids.
Here’s what I look for:
✅ 1. The camp should match their interests.
Summer is the perfect time for kids to explore, discover new passions, and make friends. If my kiddo is excited to go on Day One, that’s a win in my book!
✅ 2. The staff should love working with kids.
There’s a special kind of magic that happens when instructors are truly passionate about what they’re teaching—and about connecting with kids. Children thrive when they feel seen and supported. They come home feeling proud of their day, which makes the whole family happier.
✅ 3. Safety is a top priority.
I look for camps that take child safety seriously—whether it’s secure check-in and check-out procedures, first aid–certified staff, or clear emergency protocols. A safe environment lets kids (and parents!) relax and enjoy the experience.
✅ 4. Bonus points if a friend is attending too!
Everything’s more fun with a buddy—especially summer camp.
With Snapology, I’ve built our camp experience around these exact values. Our programs are rooted in play-based learning, STEM exploration, and, most importantly, fun. We focus on quality, caring instructors, a safe and nurturing environment, and themes that actually excite kids—because I believe summer should be both meaningful and magical.
If you’ve already experienced a Snapology camp, I hope your child ended the week with a big smile and a story to tell. If you haven’t yet signed up, I’d encourage you to grab a spot before they’re gone. We’d love to be part of your summer adventure!
