Are you ready for an exciting adventure that combines creativity, critical thinking, and cutting-edge robotics? Snapology of Amarillo is absolutely thrilled to announce that we are now offering the incredible FIRST® LEGO® League (FLL) program right here in our community for the 2025-2026 season!
This year, FIRST® LEGO® League invites young minds to become archaeologists of innovation with the UNEARTHED™ theme. It’s an exploration into how we can uncover the past to discover the future, connecting ancient wisdom with modern solutions. We believe every child deserves the chance to explore the exciting worlds of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) in a fun and engaging way. FLL is the perfect platform to do just that, fostering essential 21st-century skills while building confidence and teamwork.
Our Snapology Amarillo FLL Program Highlights for the 2025-2026 Season:
We’ve designed our program to be accessible and enriching for a wide range of ages and interests:
- Anticipated Season Dates: Our program is expected to run from week August 26, 2025, through the week of, May 5, 2026. Please note that we will not meet on holidays.
- The 2025-2026 Theme: UNEARTHED™! Get ready to dig deep into the past to find solutions for the future. Teams will be inspired by archaeology as they uncover artifacts, solve challenges, and innovate!
- Three Age-Specific Team Levels:
- FLL Discover Teams (Ages 4-6): This playful introduction uses LEGO DUPLO bricks to spark natural curiosity around the UNEARTHED theme. Teams meet weekly for 1.5 hours, balancing FLL activities with creative play. They’ll celebrate their learning at fun mid-season and end-of-season Family Showcase events!
- FLL Explore Teams (Ages 6-10): Students delve into engineering fundamentals, designing and coding solutions with LEGO bricks and SPIKE Essential, all within the context of the UNEARTHED challenge. Like Discover, they’ll meet weekly for 1.5 hours with a mix of FLL focus and creative play, culminating in mid-season and end-of-season Family Showcases.
- FLL Challenge Teams (Ages 9-14): Get ready for friendly competition! These teams engage in research, problem-solving, coding, and engineering, building and programming LEGO SPIKE Prime robots to complete missions on a themed field related to UNEARTHED. They’ll also tackle a real-world problem with an innovative solution. Challenge Teams are eligible to compete in an area event (this year’s is tentatively scheduled for February 21, 2026, at Lubbock Cooper High School – plan for a full-day event!). Teams have the option to participate in the program without competing.
- Flexible Meeting Options: We understand busy schedules! We anticipate offering both daytime and evening options for participation.
- Program Investment:
- One-Time Initial Supply Fee: $130 for Discover Teams, $150 for Explore & Challenge Teams.
- Participation Cost: $850 for the year, conveniently spread into $85 monthly payments from August to May.
