Snapology of Tri Valley offers hands-on, interactive activities in San Ramon and surrounding area for children ages 1-14 using LEGO® bricks, K’Nex and technology. Kids have so much fun in our classes, camps and parties that they don’t even realize they’re learning.
“Thank you for making our son's birthday party this weekend so awesome. The kids had a blast! The staff was great working with the kids and myself. This was one of the most stress free parties!
“Thank you for an awesome birthday party for my son. Our "helpers" couldn’t have been better. This was the least stressful birthday we have ever had, and we are very appreciative. The kids had a blast and we'll recommend Snapology to our friends! You have the best birthday party around!”
“My son attended two Snapology camps this summer and each week he was so thrilled to go! He wished they were a lot longer. He says it's the best summer camp he's ever been to. He learned so much and had so much fun. What a great program you have! We look forward to next year!”

Hi! I am Denise. Snapology of the Tri-Valley is my business. My purpose is to bring Snapology’s usage of LEGO® bricks and other toy substitutes to your kids utilizing curriculum that is STEAM and common-core qualified. I use the creative aspect of play to help your kids integrate those concepts into their lives.
I am a parent, a Mother, a Single Mom, a working Mother, an Entrepreneur and a Volunteer. I bring it to you for after school enrichment at schools, park & recreation centers, community centers, homes and various other places.
I understand a parent’s desire to want the most enriched education for their kids. I recall those times at home laying out my calendar and activity guides trying to figure out schedules for my kids when school wasn’t in session. I’d create draft schedules and discuss them with my kids.
The activities chosen had to engage my kids and give me peace of mind while I was at work. We want the best for our kids. I will strive to give your kids the best educational experience they can have while playing.
STEAM is a part of our lives. You may even be holding one of those devices in your hand right now. Understanding STEAM is imperative. But I want to do it creatively so we embrace it functionally to live our best lives. Engagement, Education and Fun – That’s why I chose my saying to be: Let’s Discover You by Playing!
Most people react in three ways when confronted with a situation- dependent on it's type: Forget it a few seconds later, Remember it for a few days and then have it fade to their subconscious memory, or Remember it forever as if to be able to relive it over and over. Our passion at Different Studios is to make every moment live forever, as if stamped in time.
I view Snapology as a start-up as there’s only one other Snapology in California besides myself. We are building a brand together. I started towards the end of 2016 and have received more opportunities to provide classes where I need to hire.
BUILDING A CATAPULT TOGETHER: I want to build what we do as a community where each of us are mentoring each other. With what I do, I can help mentor you on aspects of owning your own business in education, earning side income and how we work with our communities we are in. You can mentor the students you teach and assistants.
If you haven’t or have, you can read my “About” section to get an idea about me. What we do is use interactive play using LEGO® bricks and other construction toys to teach the kids science, technology, engineering, art and math. The other component is behavioral as we will be working with kids and families where communication is key in learning the different values of STEM/STEAM and working as a team in class. It’s a social interaction that we receive from kids and their families.
For me the reward has been the instant feedback for what I will be doing or have done in class – I receive emails and hear that their student is “super excited to start!” a class coming up. Here's what others have to say:
“…I can not thank you enough for providing these classes at the school."
“…has come home after each class glowing with enthusiasm for her passion for building…”
“…he didn’t want to wake-up to go to school today till I told him he had Snapology after school and he got up to go…”
I came from corporate. This type of positive feedback for how hard I worked to develop my work product did not happen. Here I do. I can feel like I’m making a difference but I can’t do this alone.
As a start-up (so to speak) there’s a learning curve even though I have a strong business background. There is the business to consider on what can and can’t be done, but I’d be willing to hear your input on how we can do things better or we’ve done something well. As we do our classes, we learn new tweaks to add or enhance the experience as well as organize ourselves better.
To be frank, this part-time job isn’t an easy one as we are mobile where we bring it all to the organization such as a public school. Besides passing a background fingerprint check and TB testing, you’ll need to be able to travel with the materials. You will need to be reliable and have a reliable car as organizations, kids, families and I am counting on you to do your job.
I provide you with a collapsing wheel cart which is about 36 pounds. The materials go into 2 plastic bins with a cover (just in case of wind & rain). You’ll need to inventory the LEGO® bricks so you have what’s needed for the builds. I can guide you on what’s worked best for me and you can also try what works best for you where we can compare notes.
There’s also the challenge of classroom management of the students as you have have K-5th or 2nd-5th depending on the class. The class size is 20-24 students. After class care is a consideration as we must make sure the kids are all picked up or we take them to the onsite school after care. There may be a circumstance to pick-up students from the aftercare site if their class ends before ours start (this isn’t as frequent; I haven’t had this yet).
Classes are just the beginning as there’s weekend work for birthday parties. I’m looking at other things we can do as I am LEGO® Serious Play certified where I am looking at consulting and leadership. We have an anti-bullying program that I want to look at for school assemblies. These areas I haven’t developed well enough as I’ve been too involved in the building the business and teaching classes to focus more in these areas. Which is where you can come in?
I put a lot of “skin in the game” as I will be towards investing in you as those materials are an investment I’ve given to you. There are further details on the position in the attached Job Description and Job Application. If you are interested, please contact me and/or apply. Thank you for your time and interest in Snapology of the Tri-Valley.
